Established 100% independent
motorcycle R&D capability and became the most technically
autonomous motorcycle company in Taiwan , changing from
a technical importer to a technical exporter. Strategically
deployed Taiwan as the global operation headquarter to
further development and expansion into Mainland China
and ASEAN regions. There were up to 86 independently
R&D motorcycle models, and SYM was awarded the highest
3% product incentive reward within the industry by the
Ministry of Economic Affairs for independent R&D

The only company in
Taiwan equipped with automobile and motorcycle development
moulds, tools and specialized processing machinery with
automatic welding capability, and is already exporting
large size moulds for car engines and mechanical processing
equipment to overseas car manufacturers. Our competitiveness
in technology and cost has been recognized internationally. |

First one to complete
the development of automated laser welding equipment
for car door panel and enabled the equipment into production
at the same time. |

Managed a self-invented
automatic car body welding production line into operation. |

First in Taiwan and
in the world to break through production technology to
apply ceramic cylinders used in special racing vehicles
on all SYM scooters. Production now exceeding 260,000
units. |

Successfully incorporated
motorcycles with electronic fuel injection system (EFI)
that were originally used only on automobiles and received
the "Super low pollution vehicle" certification from
the Ministry of Environmental Protection Administration.
The EFI system application on motorcycles signifies a
new technological breakthrough in the industry, while
SYM became the leading manufacturer in producing the
most number of scooters with EFI system worldwide. |

Along with the evolution
of automobiles using 4 valve engines as a threshold,
we have been able to complete the development of 4 valve
motorcycle engines and incorporate the engines on real
products. The accumulated production of EFI engine motorcycles
has exceeded 150,000 units as the winning 4-valve scooter
manufacturer in the world. |
